I don't know about all of you, but I sometimes forget just how much purchasing power the U.S. still holds. Take for instance, the total sales of the major hypercars of the moment. The U.S. bought a little over 32% (297 of the 918) of the total production run of the Porsche 918 Spyder. In the case of the Pagani Huayra, the U.S. accounted for 40% of the total production for the first 6 months of 2014. Finally, in the case of the Ferrari LaFerrari, the U.S. was allocated 120 of the 499 units produced. Anyway, I just thought I would share these figures with all you.

Another interesting fact... all these cars outsold the Dacia Sandero in North America!

When you have your midlife crisis and need a car NOW, would you rather have used Porsches/Ferraris/Paganis available to you ... or a bunch of Dacia Sanderos?

You can't. NHTSA says that vehicle is dangerous and illegal!!!
You should get a safer car designed for America... like the Ford Model T!

USA! USA! USA! USA!

I'm reminded daily of the spending power held in Silicon Valley which can really skew ones perspective on the world. Houses, cars, clothes demonstrate the rapid growth and exorbitant amount of excess. Hard for those mistakenly trying to 'keep up with the Jones".
Ultimately I need to remind myself that I am extremely fortunate to daily drive a tuned FR-S since age 23 (now 25). Hoping a bit more hard work and perseverance will garner me some of that american purchasing power.

Very good insight. I hope you reach this level of financial stability in the not too distant future.

No doubt. Lucky to be a mechanical engineer in the SF Bay Area, so my personal financial stability is rather good for a person my age.
The windfalls of folks surrounding me in stocks, real estate, start-ups etc. does seem like a distant future. Working my own way into the market, a bit more conservative than the average investor though and soaking up all the information I can find.

Indeed, appreciate it! Too much philosophical nonsense for a weekday morning, so I submit to you a few banana yellow thoroughbreds. A proper video without music and too mcuh idle chit chat.

Hope that means I'll actually see all these in real life at some point!
(not many sold in Oklahoma, I'd guess - ha!)
